How much does a solar system cost in Pakistan in 2026?
Fully installed, a 5kW on-grid system runs about PKR 6.6–9 lakh, a 10kW hybrid with lithium battery about PKR 16–22 lakh, and a 50kW commercial system about PKR 55–70 lakh. Every price includes panels, inverter, structure, cabling, earthing, and net-metering filing — and we give a written, itemised quote after a free survey, never a verbal range.
What is the payback period on solar in Pakistan?
For a home with summer bills above PKR 35,000, a hybrid system pays back in roughly 3–5 years. Daytime-heavy commercial sites pay back in 1.5–3 years. Most of the saving comes from self-consumption — using your own solar instead of buying from the grid at PKR 50+ per unit — not from exporting surplus.
Can I pay in instalments, or is bank financing available?
Yes. Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah, Faysal Islami, and Bank of Punjab offer 5–7 year solar financing, including Shariah-compliant Diminishing Musharakah with no interest. For many homes the monthly instalment is lower than the electricity bill they were already paying. We help prepare the bank application.
Will my electricity bill really drop close to zero?
On a properly sized hybrid system, most homes see a 70–95% reduction. Reaching near-zero needs a battery that covers your evening load plus shifting heavy appliances (washing, ironing, water pumping) into solar hours. We design specifically for that outcome when it is your goal.
Net billing and DISCO paperwork
What changed with net billing in 2026?
On 9 February 2026, NEPRA's Prosumer Regulations replaced 1:1 net metering with net billing. You now pay full retail tariff for any unit you import (PKR 40–60) and receive only about PKR 11 per unit for exports. The practical takeaway: size for self-consumption first, and pair with a battery rather than over-building for export.
Do you file the net-metering application for me?
Yes — end to end. We prepare the PEC-stamped single-line diagram, complete the application, pay the concurrence fee, attend the DISCO inspection, and coordinate the bi-directional smart meter. You only sign the documents; you never visit the DISCO office.
Can I still get the old 1:1 buyback rate?
Only if your application was submitted before 9 February 2026 — those prosumers are grandfathered at the old rate for the life of their contract. Any new application after that date is processed under net billing.
Do I need a three-phase connection for net metering?
For systems above 5kW, most DISCOs require a three-phase connection; below 5kW a single-phase connection is fine. If you need to upgrade, we coordinate the load-increase application with the DISCO as part of the process.
On-grid, hybrid, off-grid, and sizing
On-grid, hybrid, or off-grid — which is right for me?
On-grid suits areas with stable supply (under ~4 hours of loadshedding) that want the lowest cost, but it gives no backup during outages. Hybrid suits most Lahore homes facing 4–12 hours of loadshedding. Off-grid suits farmhouses and locations with no grid at all. We recommend the right fit after a free survey.
What size system do I need for my bill?
As a rough guide, a Lahore home using 600–800 units a month needs about a 6–8kW system; a bill under PKR 20,000 usually maps to 3kW, and PKR 45,000–90,000 to around 10kW. Share your last three electricity bills and we will calculate the exact size — free of charge.
Will solar run my air conditioners?
Yes, with correct sizing. A 5kW hybrid inverter comfortably runs one 1.5-ton inverter AC plus normal household load. For two or more ACs you need a 7.5–10kW inverter and a battery sized for the evening AC run-time. We model your exact appliance load before quoting.
Panels, inverters, batteries, and guarantees
What panels and inverters do you install?
Bloomberg Tier-1 N-type TOPCon panels (Longi, JA Solar, Jinko, Canadian Solar) and premium inverters (Huawei, Sungrow, Goodwe, Solis). For storage we install only LFP lithium batteries (Pylontech, Dyness, Soluna, BYD). We never fit unbranded clone panels or lead-acid batteries.
How do I know the panels are genuine Tier-1?
We provide the manufacturer's authorisation letter and the panel datasheet at handover, and we log the serial numbers of your modules. If a quote looks unusually cheap, ask the installer to show those same documents before you pay any deposit.
What warranties do I get?
A 25-year linear panel performance warranty plus 12-year product warranty, 10–12 year inverter warranty, 10-year LFP battery warranty with guaranteed minimum capacity, a 10-year structure warranty, and a 2-year RaySmartSolar workmanship warranty. We handle every claim in-house.
LFP or lead-acid battery — which should I choose?
Always LFP lithium. It lasts 6,000+ cycles versus 300–500 for lead-acid, delivers 80% usable depth versus 50%, and carries no thermal-runaway risk in Pakistan's summer heat. Per usable kWh over its life, lead-acid costs roughly three times more — so we don't install it.
Timeline, roofs, loadshedding, and coverage
How long does installation take?
Most residential systems are surveyed, installed, and energised within 7–14 days, with net metering filed in parallel. Commercial systems take roughly 6–10 weeks, and industrial EPC projects 30–120 days depending on scale.
Can you install on a tin shed or elevated structure?
Yes. Roughly a third of our residential installs are on tin sheds or elevated steel frames over a slab. We use galvanised structures rated for 150 km/h wind loads and never penetrate a roof without proper waterproofing and a structural check.
Will solar work during loadshedding?
An on-grid system shuts down during a grid outage for safety (anti-islanding). To keep power flowing through loadshedding you need a hybrid inverter and a lithium battery — which is exactly why hybrid is our default recommendation for loadshedding-prone areas.
Do you offer maintenance and panel cleaning?
Yes. Dust can cost up to about 20% of output in Punjab. We offer annual O&M contracts that include cleaning, inverter health checks, earthing tests, and a performance report, as well as one-off cleans for existing systems.
What areas of Pakistan do you cover?
